Who Are We?

dcist.gifSo if you've been wondering who we are, we have a staff page that is more or less ready for viewing, but with new DCist contributors coming on board, look for it to change.

If you find yourself on 18th Street this evening, we would love for you to join us for our launch party/happy hour.

DCeiver even says we're giving out free treats, Oprah-style. While we cannot confirm that everyone will get a free Julia's Empanada, who ever first answers the following riddle correctly gets a free martini:

If Pennsylvania=4, New Hampshire=650 and Georgia=97, what is Connecticut divided by Wisconsin multiplied by Massachusetts? Test your skills. (We'll even go for top shelf vodka if you can figure it out.)

While DCist is highly entertained watching CNN's Anderson Cooper and Rob Marciano being nearly blown away from their Mobile, Ala., hotel, we are thankful that we won't be dealing with the wrath of Hurricane Ivan for our gathering. In D.C., it's supposed to be in the high 70s, low 80s by the time festivities begin.

Grapefeed, you're almost right. Check your route numbers. Then e-mail me your math to claim your prize.

I'm guessing it's 206.
(185 / 355) * 396 = 206 and change.

I'll be by to pick up my Dirty, Grey Goose Martini around 7:30.

Sorry,
I didn't realise I was so late in my reponse. I'll cede my victory beverage to the man with the faster, and much more elaborate answer. Here I thought I was all clever. My bad.

Though Grapefeed got some of his math wrong, the clever response is deserving of a prize. The first to e-mail a correct reponse was Rebecca Parks, who will enjoy a drink on me. Thanks for playing, everyone.

Alas, it wasn't the math, but one of the route numbers was off. Damn Mapquest! ;)
