An Odd Sighting
D.C. has its fair share of odd celebrity sightings, but tonight, DCist came across one of the strangest: Matthew Lesko. That's right, that guy in the flashy question mark jacket on the television infomercials about how you can cash in on free money from government programs.
Lesko was seated on the outdoor patio at Cactus Cantina on Wisconsin Avenue near the National Cathedral, complete with his trademark question mark jacket and funky glasses. After Lesko left Cactus Cantina, he climbed into his bright yellow mid-90s Acura that was speckled with black polka dots (and a Kerry bumper sticker) and drove past the restaurant.
Cactus Cantina seems to attract quite the array of notables. It was a favorite place for Monica Lewinsky and is one of the few places President Bush has ventured out to in the District.

I've seen him a couple times walking around, always in funky jacket! I think he and I have the same taste in movies.
I'd like to add that there's a photo of former First Lady Barbara Bush by the maitre'd's stand when you walk in the restaurant. And Messr. Lesko is a proud graduate of The American University: A Private University with a Public Responsibility.
I believe he lives around here...
I've seen him in Dupont Circle, while riding the 42 bus home to Adams Morgan... and I'm mighty pissed because Cactus is a regular stop for me and I've never seen anyone more famous than Jose Cuervo there... Teaches me to skip out on my chicken fajitas.
Lesko rolls into Tryst in Adams Morgan on a semi-regular basis. Also seen him in the Bethesda Barnes & Noble. I always see him on a reddish scooter, and yeah, always in his question-marked attire. Other than the overt strangeness, he seems like a pretty chill guy.
I spotted him in Alexandria once walking around Old Town in the suit. My friend thought it was the Riddler!
he lives off connecticut, close to kensington...he used to have a red minivan peppered with those question marks. he's almost as good as the wacky wall crawler guy for DC celebrity!
There's also a question-marked yellow Mini Cooper that's seen every so often on Conn passing through Cleveland Park.
I saw him at the Sleater-Kinney show at the 9:30 Club back in April.
