Photo of the Day: January 4, 2007

We've all been there, walked through it, grabbed some lunch in the basement food court, but rpongsaj has a fun, twisty photo interpretation of the Union Station we known oh-so well. Taken sideways from a balcony, I presume. EXIF data, of course.

This is hilarious, because some friend and I eat lunch on the upper floor by the cafe every day, and we laugh at all the tourists that walk around and take photos of the mall (not National Mall, just mall as in shopping). (I mean seriously, who takes photos of malls?) But this picture looks interesting, and I imagine the photographer is not a tourist, so we'll let it slide this time...
Nope, looks like a tourist.
Yeah, I live in Arlington (and work in Georgetown, which doesn't feel like the rest of the city), so I suppose I *am* sort of a tourist when I'm in the District.
Anyway, I was showing one of my friends around DC, and decided to see if I could manage to get a couple decent shots while she was doing the tourist thing. I have fond memories of taking photos at Union Station during the holidays back when I really was visiting DC as a tourist, so I figured I'd revisit the subject.
